Brewery: Modern Times – Portland, OR

Rating: 3.75/5
Notes: A nice lager with some Belgian yeast I believe. It certainly has that Belgian taste to me. Perfect for a hot day and that’s been pretty often this summer.
Can art: Cool typography and retro design.
Drinkage: 3 months after can date. Not as fresh as I’d like but it’s not too bad for a lager

Archives for September 2018
Beer: Double Hipster
Style: DIPA
ABV: 8.2%
IBU:-
Hops: Idaho-7, Topaz and Ella
———————————–
Brewery: Masons Brewing Company – Brewer, ME
Brewery IG: @masonsbrewingco
———————————–
Rating: 4.25/5
Notes: Great combination of hops which I don’t know very well other than Topaz which give this beer a nice uniqueness. That’s a pretty great quality to have for a beer especially these days when there’s a million hazy, double IPAs. The fruit and sweetness was just right for me.
Can Art: Sweet. My picture doesn’t do it justice. The illustrations are super legit. I love the “now twice as cool as you” as well.
Drinkage: 23 days after can date.

Beer: Ferocious Citrus IPA
Style: IPA
ABV: %
IBU: 50
Hops: Citra and Amarillo

Brewery: Hopworks Urban Brewery, Portland, OR
Brewery IG: @hopworksbeer

Rating: 4/5
Notes: Nicely done grapefruit beer. Lots of times the ones I’ve had are too sweet or too tart. This is right in the middle and very drinkable.
Can art: Sick! Great design.
Drinkage: Damn. One year. No joke. Wow. I just bought it at the store… I’m hoping my review wasn’t too off because of how old it was and that the strong grapefruit made it hold up a bit. ———————————–

Brewery: Stoneface Brewing Company, Newington, NH

Rating: 3.75/5
Notes: Was a good beer. But not great. I preferred Stonface’s IPA a bit more as it was a bit more smooth and drinkable.
Can art: Cool but nothing crazy
Drinkage: 20 days after can date

Brewery: Great Notion Brewing – Portland, OR and Block15 Brewing – Corvallis, OR
Brewery IG: @greatnotionpdx – @block15brewing
———————————–
Rating: 4.5/5
Notes: These Peach Punches from Great Notion and Block15 are awesome. This version is the Great Notions brewed offering/variation. This one features a bit of salt which I’m trying to figure out if I like it or not. It’s a light salt flavor I get at the tail but it’s certainly unique.
Can Art: Awesome. Always good can block print type can art from Great Notion.
Drinkage: As fresh as possible. 3 days after date on can and day of release.

Notes: Wonderful hazy pale ale. Some great tropical notes and full of flavor. I’m picking up some mango in there. Not too sweet at all and medium on the happiness.
Can art: Standard Tree House art.
Drinkage: At the tail end of one month… 32 days from can date.
